Detectives are investigating following the discovery of a Mauritian man’s body in Walthamstow.


Yassar Moussa

Police were called by a member of the public at approximately 1.40pm on Monday, 24 August to St James Park, E17, London, after a person was found unresponsive. Officers attended.

Yassar Moussa, a Mauritian man from Camp Yoloff, Port-Louis, aged 35, was pronounced dead at the scene.

His next of kin have been informed and are being supported by officers. Yassar Moussa was married and had one child.

A post-mortem examination will be scheduled in due course.

At this stage the death is being treated as suspicious.

At this early stage no arrests have been made.

Officers will be conducting increased patrols locally so residents can expect to see an additional police presence in the area.
