A teenager has been arrested for allegedly raping a nine-year-old boy while he was on holiday in Sydney.
The 18-year-old, from Mauritius, was arrested when he landed back in Australia.
He was 17 and on holiday in Sydney in January 2017 when the alleged sexual assault occurred.
He was extradited from South Australia to face charges after he was arrested when he touched down at an airport in Adelaide on Sunday night.
The accused arrived in Sydney on Tuesday after approval from a magistrate for him to be extradited.
The teenager was taken to Mascot Police Station and was charged with two counts of sexual intercourse with a child under the age of ten and two counts of indecent assault of a person under 16.
An alleged sexual assault was investigated at a home in Sydney's west in April 2017, after an arrest warrant for the man was issued in March last year.
He was also an overseas resident at the time.
The alleged sex offender was refused bail in a children's court today.
